We built Untangly to make wedding planning a little less stressful. Part of that is being clear about what data we collect and how we use it. The short version: your data is yours, we only use it to run the service, and we never sell it.
Account information
When you sign up, we collect your name and email address. If you use Google to sign in, we receive this information from Google with your permission.
Event and guest data
We store the wedding event details you create — including event names, dates, venue names, guest names, guest relationships, table configurations, and seating preferences. This data is yours, and we use it only to provide the service.
Payment information
Payments are processed entirely by Stripe. We never see or store your credit card number — only a confirmation that a payment was made.
Usage data
We may collect basic information about how you use the app, such as pages visited, features used, and device or browser type. This helps us improve Untangly.
Cookies
We use authentication cookies to keep you logged in. These are managed by Supabase (our authentication provider) and are strictly necessary for the service to work.
We use your information to provide and improve the Untangly service, process payments through Stripe, and send transactional emails like account confirmations and payment receipts.
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties. We do not use your guest data or event data for advertising.
We share your data only with the services that help us run Untangly:
Stripe
Handles payment processing. They receive your payment details directly — we only receive confirmation of a successful charge.
Supabase
Provides our database and authentication infrastructure. Your data is stored on their servers.
Vercel
Hosts the Untangly application.
That's it. We don't share your information with anyone else.
All data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS) and at rest. Authentication is handled via Google OAuth 2.0 or securely hashed passwords. Our database uses row-level security, meaning your data is only accessible to your account.
No system is 100% secure, but we take reasonable precautions to protect your information.
You can update your account information at any time from your settings page. You can also:
Request a copy of your data
Email us at hello@untangly.io and we'll provide an export of your account and event data.
Delete your account
You can delete your account from your settings. This permanently removes your account and all associated data.

We keep your data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we delete your data. We may retain payment records for as long as required by law.
Untangly is not intended for anyone under the age of 13. We don't knowingly collect information from children.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we'll update the date at the top of this page. Continued use of Untangly after changes means you accept the updated policy.
